A memorandum of cooperation between SATBA and the National Development Fund was signed with the aim of developing financing and investment in mega-projects in the field of renewable energy in the country by providing facilities to applicants and investors.
According to Ilna’s report from the Ministry of Energy, Seyed Mehdi Hosseini, explaining the signing of this cooperation memorandum, said: This memorandum was signed and exchanged in order to finance renewable power plant projects that have financial, technical and economic justification and from the resources of the National Development Fund with a financing volume of 5 billion dollars and with priority to grant facilities to solar and wind power plants.
Director General of the Office of Budget, Facilitation of Investment and Equipping Financial Resources of Renewable Energy and Electricity Efficiency Organization (SATBA) added: In this cooperation memorandum, using the existing capacities, it is predicted that the possibility of investing more than 6.5 billion dollars will be provided in order to build renewable power plants in the country.
He reminded: This amount of investment is equal to the construction of a total of 10,000 megawatts of renewable power plants in the country, which, in addition to providing stable electricity and helping to solve the fuel imbalance in the country, can also bring many social, economic and environmental benefits.
Hosseini emphasized: With the implementation of these power plants, it is possible to reduce the consumption of water by 85 billion liters while reducing the consumption of more than 95 billion cubic meters of fuel in the country and at the same time prevent the production of more than 205 million tons of carbon dioxide during the life of the project.
The General Director of the Budget Office, Facilitating Investments and Equipping Financial Resources of Satba added: The electricity produced by these power plants can supply the electricity needed for five million Iranian households and create at least 120,000 job opportunities during the project implementation stages.
He mentioned: As a leading organization in the development and definition of financial instruments, Satba has a special view on internal and external financing of renewable projects in the country, and in the future, good news will be announced in the field of financing and facilitating the investment of renewable power plants for the renewable industry activists of the country.
